Above 25 Hz Resona plays the tone only. Past that the motor cannot separate one pulse from the next, so the rhythm would be an undifferentiated buzz — the app says so on screen when it happens.
Most of the seeded list sits between 3 and 18 Hz, below the threshold of human hearing and far below what a phone speaker can move. At those frequencies the tone is effectively silent and the pulse is the whole experience. That is a property of infrasonic frequencies, not a fault.
Add a frequency in the hundreds of Hz and you will hear it clearly.
The tone keeps playing with the screen off. The vibration cannot: iOS only allows haptics while an app is in the foreground. Resona pauses the pulse on the way out and rebuilds it when you come back.
Settings › Export list writes a JSON file you can send anywhere; Import reads it back. The format is shared with the Android app, so lists move between the two.
